Immersive Experience at Mud Island


Baron Von Opperbean (BVO) and the River of Time is a 33,000 sf immersive playground and interactive experience coming soon to Mud Island!


BVO creates immersive entertainment experiences combining an adventure-play labyrinth, fantastical stories, interactive games, community spaces, special events, food and beverage, and more.

In its simplest form it’s a playground where you can run, jump, climb, crawl, and teleport to alternate universes. It’s a choose your own adventure full of discovery and wonder. Think Doctor Who meets Indiana Jones in a Willy Wonka world of Magic, Science, and the Multiverse.


Explore how artificial intelligence can transform workflows, enhancing creativity and efficiency. Learn practical AI applications and tools for various project stages.

Kathryn Hicks leads the games and technology side of BVO, driving the development of naturalistic, personalized, and accessible interactions for the “Baron Von Opperbean and the River Of Time” immersive experience at Mud Island in Memphis. In collaboration with her team at Creature Studio, this groundbreaking project showcases the city’s creativity and innovation. With over nine years in extended reality (AR, VR, and MR), Kathryn has worked with top brands like HBO, Snapchat, and Hilton, consistently pushing the boundaries in immersive experiences.




GETTING HERE

  • Uber and Lyft are both reliable services that are usually less than the parking fee and provide front door service.
  • Groove-On-Demand costs just $1.25 per ride and can accommodate several guests
  • The Memphis Trolley has a stop at our front door. Just $1 per ride.

Over 2,000 parking spots are within 2 blocks of CiV. We suggest the following (in order of distance):

  • 1 min: Free Rockstar Parking at the front door is available to those with mobility issues (prior reservation by emailing Amber) and cars of 3+ guests.
  • 3 min: Tom Lee Park has free streetside parking along Riverside Drive
  • 4 min: 210 Wagner Place (use discount code LUNCH)
  • 7 min (w stairs): Downtown Mobility Center at 60 Beale Street
  • 8 min (w stairs): MLGW Parking lot
  • Downtown Street Parking: Access the Cutbank Bluff from Lynne Jordan Turley Plaza where Vance Avenue meets the Bluff Walk (formerly Vance Park).
