Baron Von Opperbean (BVO) and the River of Time is a 33,000 sf immersive playground and interactive experience coming soon to Mud Island!
BVO creates immersive entertainment experiences combining an adventure-play labyrinth, fantastical stories, interactive games, community spaces, special events, food and beverage, and more.
In its simplest form it’s a playground where you can run, jump, climb, crawl, and teleport to alternate universes. It’s a choose your own adventure full of discovery and wonder. Think Doctor Who meets Indiana Jones in a Willy Wonka world of Magic, Science, and the Multiverse.

Learning Objectives:
Kathryn Hicks leads the games and technology side of BVO, driving the development of naturalistic, personalized, and accessible interactions for the “Baron Von Opperbean and the River Of Time” immersive experience at Mud Island in Memphis. In collaboration with her team at Creature Studio, this groundbreaking project showcases the city’s creativity and innovation. With over nine years in extended reality (AR, VR, and MR), Kathryn has worked with top brands like HBO, Snapchat, and Hilton, consistently pushing the boundaries in immersive experiences.
