Located in the center of a neighborhood village and public park, this boutique hotel is a connector to its community, serving both residents and guests.
Guests arrive through a large open lobby that extends across the core of the hotel, connecting the front door to the back, allowing natural light to fill the space and framing views into the spacious garden spaces beyond.
Common spaces are detailed with lighter materials leading to bolder colors and textures within the guest rooms. Hand selected art and fine craftsmanship in the millwork create a sense of highly curated and tailored spaces.
Rich interior details are continued outside with large porches, inviting you into the more relaxed garden spaces. The inn’s rotating form wraps the garden spaces, creating an outdoor room that directs the views to the adjacent lake. The use of mitered clapboard cove siding, heavy timber brackets, and traditional turned columns all washed in white, results in a light, sophisticated space while also being relaxed and comfortable.
The lighter cladding of the hotel is contrasted against the rustic masonry of the inn’s signature restaurant, Verbena, which features a striking rustic stone gable that faces the entry drive, creating a strong landmark address for project.
