Involved with the international furniture and home furnishings industry, the clients desired a home which feels and exhibits a current freshness yet is rooted in timeless architectural design principles.
The flow from the arrival courtyard to the rear courtyard is seamless and intuitive. While the home’s program contains numerous functions, there is a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere which enhances the design character and feel so desired by the client.
The main living spaces are designed to capture natural light from multiple exposures while providing a visual connection to the foreground and background beyond. In passing from one space to another within the home, you experience a terminated view to art or through focused fenestration to views beyond.
The home’s program separates daily comings-and-goings from a more private owners’ office and suite on the opposite side of the arrival courtyard. The design provides for high-functioning, back-of-house spaces which accommodate daily living “stuff” and allows the core living spaces to be clutter-free. Natural, durable, and easily maintainable materials are integrally incorporated into the home’s exterior and interior.
