SUMMARY:Perspective Collective: National Civil Rights Museum Tour & Happy Hour
DESCRIPTION:Join AIA Memphis Emerging Professionals for a guided tour of the newly reimagined Legacy Experience at the National Civil Rights Museum. This expanded exhibition explores the continuing story of the Civil Rights Movement from 1968 to the present through immersive galleries\, interactive media\, and powerful storytelling that examines the enduring issues of housing\, education\, economic opportunity\, justice\, and equality. \nAs architects and emerging leaders\, the spaces we shape influence how communities remember\, connect\, and grow. The Legacy Experience challenges visitors to consider the role of the built environment in advancing equity\, preserving history\, and inspiring meaningful change. Together\, we will explore how design can amplify stories\, strengthen civic life\, and help create more inclusive places for future generations. \nFollowing the tour\, attendees are invited to continue the conversation over a social hour with fellow emerging professionals\, reflecting on how architecture can contribute to a more just\, resilient\, and connected Memphis. \nSpecial thanks to Clear Advantage Lighting for their sponsorship of the event\, and to Self + Tucker Architects for hosting attendees for happy hour.
