What starts with imagination on Mud Island could open new possibilities for Downtown Memphis.

Join us for a relaxed, fireside-style conversation with Marvin Stockwell, co-founder of Baron Von Opperbean and the River of Time (BVO). Marvin will share a look at BVO’s first phase, what drew the team to Mud Island, lessons learned along the way, and their hopes for what comes next.

Joined by panelists working in planning, development, and the built environment, we’ll look across the water, too: How can renewed activity on Mud Island support downtown businesses, attract investment, and encourage development? How can design, stronger connections, and public and private partnerships help that momentum grow?

Together, we’ll explore the possibilities and the practical work needed to turn imagination and hope into lasting opportunities for Memphis.

Open to architects, developers, business owners, and anyone curious about our city’s future. Come ready to listen, ask questions, and share ideas.
