AIA Memphis and Memphis in May are honored to welcome Giancarlo Mazzanti, Hon. FAIA to Memphis for the Distinguished Architects of the World Series lecture on Tuesday, May 9 at the Memphis College of Art. Join us as we explore the unique cultural, social, and economic environment of Colombia, where Mazzanti's contributions to the architectural fabric of the country have become synonymous with its dynamic social transformation.

In February 2017, Giancarlo Mazzanti, Hon. FAIA, of Bogotá, was named an Honorary Fellow by the American Institute of Architects, the highest honor the Institute can bestow.  As founder and principal of El Equipo de Mazzanti, he has developed an innovative aesthetic based on high quality design as a catalyst for social change, recently highlighted in this Huffington Post article. His award-winning work, including the España Library in Medellín and El Porvenir Kindergarten in Bogotá, is playful, impactful, and world renowned.

Mazzanti is a fascinating and internationally-known architect, and this lecture is free and open to the public!
