Supported by a tremendous amount of research and developed with AIA members, this guide helps bridge the gap between architects and the public. The AIA Message Book assists you in explaining the work of architects. It uses message points, statistics, and anecdotes grouped in topic areas that you can customize or share as examples with potential clients.
Caitlin Reagan is the manager of public affairs at the American Institute of Architects’ national office in Washington, DC. Her primary focus is the public awareness campaign efforts to help raise the profile of architects in their communities. She works with local chapters to launch communications initiatives in their area.
Before joining the AIA, Caitlin worked in communications and public relations at the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities, handling media relations, member engagement, and crisis communication situations and reputation management. In this role, she contributed to the strategic planning and execution of a grassroots letter campaign against a proposed regulation by the U.S. Department of Education. That campaign garnered 90,000 letters from university presidents, students, graduates, and employers from around the country. She has also held communications and fundraising positions with the Trust for the National Mall and the American Heart Association.
