AIA Memphis hosts the Third Thursday: Lectures on Local Design series on the third Thursday of each month. Open to the public, Third Thursdays are hosted by local architects and designers as they share their knowledge and experience with projects in the Mid-South and beyond.

The UrbanArt Commission works with various partners to commission artists of all media to create meaningful public art that transforms spaces and environments across Memphis.

Lauren Kennedy will discuss how:

  • public art is essential to enhancing communities through public and private partnerships
  • architects can engage through the RFP process on open projects through the UrbanArt Commission
  • architects can work in collaboration with owners/clients and the UrbanArt Commission to offer public art enhancements on diverse project types
