Thank you for joining us for an elegant evening of music, mingling and celebration in recognition of the sixty-second anniversary of AIA Memphis. Our guests arrived ready to ascend to the stars as we gathered at the Tower Center atop East Memphis’ Clark Tower to honor our founders, leaders, and partners who made outstanding contributions to the profession and our community over the years. The 2016 Design Awards topped off the evening.

Original design work by The University of Memphis Department of Architecture students was available by Silent Auction throughout the evening.

2016 AIA Memphis Design Awards Winners

Winners were announced at the Celebration of Architecture Gala on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

Design Award of Excellence: Redeemer Presbyterian Church . archimania

An abandoned building purchased by a young congregation to reinvigorate it as their new home, and enhance their presence and permanence within the community.

Design Award of Excellence: Vasco A. Smith, Jr. Administrative Building . archimania and Self+Tucker Architects / a joint venture

A 12-story Shelby County Administrative Building modernized by providing more efficient planning, better work flow, and an energy-efficient envelope with new building systems.
